Etching, drypoint and aquatint, 1879, Bourcard-Goodfriend 130 (v/V), edition unknown. 12 5/8 x 9 3/8 in. Signed, titled and dated in the plate; also, bearing the large red owl stamp below (Lugt 977). This is a superb, atmospheric impression printed with rich plate tone. The margins are wide and the condition is fine. (There's just a subtle trace of old tape adhesive at the top of the sheet, verso.) This exemplary work has all the elements of a great Buhot print; a striking composition, detail, atmosphere and his unique pictorial imagery.       SOLD
