Carousel - MYERS

Drypoint, circa 1925, edition probably 25. 8 x 9 3/4 in. Signed and titled in pencil. Here we have a superb impression rich with burr. The margins are probably full and the condition is quite good. (There's very faint toning on the front and a bit of soiling on the verso.) This exemplary work was certainly done in New York and there are two oils of a similar carousel subject. Myers was one of the founders of the Association of American Painters and Sculptors which organized the 1913 Armory Show. His prints are not especially common.

New York City - MYERS

New York City
Monotype, 1917, edition of one. 10 x 7 7/8 in. Signed in pencil. This is a fine impression printed on thin Japanese paper. The margins are full. The condition is fine apart from some wrinkles at the lower left margin edge and old hinges at the top. Monotypes by Myers are rare. This is inscribed by him along the bottom, "on Henry Street near Jackson Street" which places this in the lower east side of New York.
