Wood engraving (woodcut?), circa 1913, small edition. 6 3/8 x 6 3/8 in. Signed in pencil and also inscribed "proefdruk." This is a fine impression of an uncommon print. This is the full, untrimmed sheet with a deckle edge all around. The condition is fine other than minor paper imperfections, one in the blank area at left, and an old fold in the lower margin. This important portrait is illustrated on page 16 of Theo van Hoytema 1863-1917, the 1999 exhibition catalogue for the Drents Museum/Gemeentemuseum show about the artist. An impression of this work is located in the Rijksmuseum collection.      $900
