The Gothic Spirit - JOHN TAYLOR ARMS

Medium: etching

JOHN TAYLOR ARMS
American, (1887-1953)

Etching, 1922, Fletcher 120, edition 130 plus 5 trial proofs. 11 3/4 x 7 1/8 in. Signed and dated in pencil. With the following dedication, "to my friend Helen Loggie." This is a superb impression on antique laid paper. The margins appear to be full and the condition is fine. The right edge of the sheet is irregular which suggest the sheet was taken from and old ledger book. Helen Loggie was a west coast artist. She met John Talor Arms in 1929 and continued to stay in contact with him for about twenty years. This is a stellar example from his gargoyle series.      $2,500
