Lithograph, 1857, Delteil 2859 (ii/II), edition unknown. 8 x 10 in. Initialed on the stone, lower left. This is a fine "sur blanc" impression with full margins. The condition is very good other than for a tiny replaced loss in the extreme top corner margin and a couple of minor stains at the extreme top edge of the sheet. This outstanding print is plate 19 from "Croquis d'été (Summer Sketches). The scene depicts a hot summer day in France where their grape vines are suffering as well as the couple trying to help them. Ex-collection: Gabriel Cognacq (Lugt 538d) and H.M. Petiet (see Lugt 2021a).      $550
