(Fletcher describes seven states with no descriptive variations among states three to seven.)

The margins are full with the possible exception of the lower margin apparently slightly trimmed. The condition is fine apart from the faintest suggestion of toning within an earlier mat opening. This, along with his portrait of Henry Rushbury, are two of Brockhurst's finest portraits of his contemporaries.

Bruning was a student of Frans van Stuck. His work during this early period was a combination of art deco and decadent symbolism. He was commissioned as a war artist and thereafter settled in Berlin. Many of his copper plates were destroyed during the war. His prints are now rare as what we have here. Signed and titled in pencil. This is a superb impression with full margins. The condition is fine.

This is a fine, rich impression printed on a sturdy, simili japon paper. The margins are full. The condition is fine apart from slight light toning within an earlier mat opening. Here Buckland-Wright depicts a woman stepping into the bath as viewed through the doorway. This rare print was printed by Brunel in Paris.

Signed with the red stamp on the edge of the image lower left (Lugt 977). This is a superb, luminous impression of this rare state. There are inky plate edges in areas which suggest the proof-like nature of this impression. The margins are full and the condition is excellent. This is described by Goodfriend as the "final published state of the print." The etched writing along the bottom edge reads "Une Matinée d'Hiver au Quai de l'Hôtel Dieu," and on the right side, "2em Etat de Publication..." This state was unknown to Bourcard. This is certainly one of Buhot's finest prints shown here in an exemplary impression.

(Lugt 977) This superb, luminous impression is also inscribed by the artist, "épreuve d'essai du 4e état après la planche coupée et avant le retouche du ciel." ('Proof of the fourth state after the plate was cut but before the reworking of the sky.') The condition is fine and the margins are wide and probably untrimmed. This large and impressive work is here seen in an outstanding impression.

This is a superb impression rich in tone and contrasts. The paper is a cream Japanese and the margins are probably full. Excellent condition. There's an annotation by Buhot along the bottom of the sheet: Tirage //300 épr.//25 ép. D'artiste//3 ép.sur Japon. Here Buhot depicts the crown offered to pope Léon XIII for his jubilee. It was made by the goldsmith François-Désiré Froment-Meurice who knew Buhot. The artist depicts his son in the foreground.

Signed with the artist's red stamp at bottom edge center (Lugt 977). Here we have a fine, luminous impression printed on sturdy laid paper. The margins are probably full with a deckle edge on three sides. The condition is excellent apart from the trace of a vertical stain along the extreme left edge of the sheet. (The paper shows a partial ARCHES watermark.) This is a stellar, uncommon work by Buhot.

This is a fine impression of this uncommon print. The paper is a thick Japanese paper. This is likely and intermediate second state, with the shading complete but before annotations were added in three of the four corners. This exquisite work is from Buhot's Japonism series based on several objects in the collection of Philippe Burty.

The condition is fine apart from a subtle suggestion of water staining in the lower right corner margin, well away from the image. This large, impressive color print is dedicated "à Mr. Levi de Benzion," Moïse Lévy de Benzion (1873-1943) who was an Egyptian department store owner and collector of art and antiquities.

Lithograph printed in colors, 1909, Wright 29, edition 45. 12 x 9 3/4 in. Signed in pencil and bearing number "33". The stamp of the Senefelder Club is also present (Lugt 639). This is a fine impression with fresh, vibrant colors. The margins are full and the condition is excellent. Copley excelled in both lithography and etching and the colors prints are uncommon and date among his earliest works. The Senefelder Club was founded in 1908 to revive interest in the medium. It was there that he met Ethel Gabain, also a fine printmaker, and they were married in 1913.
