(There's a repaired tear in the lower margins and a few wrinkles, all well apart from the image. Bolding studied at the Rijksschool voor Kunstnijverheid, Amsterdam. He was a gifted watercolorist as well a skilled woodcut artist.

Etching and aquatint, 1920s-1930s, Timmerman CB 118M, edition unknown. 13 1/4 x 17 in. Signed and titled in pencil. This is a fine, richly inked impression printed on sturdy wove paper. The margins are full. The condition is very good. Brandenburg specialized in these atmospheric views along the canals and some of his work, including this plate, was printed in colors. He lived and worked in Amsterdam and studied with Pieter Dupont and A.J. Derkinderen. His best works ranks with that of Witsen and Everbag. Between 1615 and 1658, this canal was the southern border of the city of Amsterdam. It's named after the city of Leiden.

This is a fine bound volume of six woodcuts, each signed and numbered in pencil, tipped onto larger sheets as issued. Very good condition other than occasional foxing and with margins as issued. This work was published by G. van Oest, Bruxelles-Paris. A preface is written by Fierens-Gevaert. Brocas was best known for his woodcuts and his Nabis-like prints are found in major prints collections in Europe.

Painter, etcher, ceramic artist, illustrator and designer extraordinaire, Coppens was the subject of a major retrospective in 2001 with an excellent catalogue.

The margins are full and the condition is excellent. Coppens experimented with different ink colors and this may have grown out of his early experiments in symbolist paintings and later, during his especially productive art nouveau period. He rarely dated his prints. A few were published in conjunction with the Sociéte des Aquafortistes Belges. His 2001 retrospective was held at the Centre d'Art de Rouge-Cloître (Auderghem) in Belgium.

Etching, 1906, LeRoy 7 (iii/III), edition unknown but probably fewer than 50. 8 5/8 x 14 1/2 in. Signed and dated in the plate. Signed and titled below the image in pencil. This is a fine impression printed on cream-colored Japanese paper. The margins are full. The condition is quite good apart from occasional scuffs in the outer margins. This wonderful, early work reminds of the great Flemish tradition of the of kermis, or village fair, which was made popular early on by Breughel and others. A pen and ink drawing exists for this print and is now in a private collection. Other works by de Bruycker are currently available.

This is a superb impression of this monumental print. The margins are full and the condition is fine. This masterpiece of etching is an exceptional example of the artist's flair for detail and drama. Loosely sketched figures are depicted parading up the steps. He produced another large work of Amiens Cathedral in 1929 which is illustrated on this site. (RESERVED)

The margins are full and the condition is fine. The Porte Saint Denis is a triumphal arch designed by the architect Francois Blondel and the sculptor Michel Anguier for Louis XIV. It was built in 1672. An impression of this majestic work is in the Minneapolis Institute of Art.

The margins are somewhat narrow but substanial enough. The paper is mildly toned on the front. De Jong's prints are not so common. He was a gifted painter and his work is represented in the Rijksmuseum. We are not yet sure what cathedral is depicted in this print.

The paper is a cream colored wove which is typically what Delhez printed on. His editions were always very small and each impression is usually inscribed as an artists proof. This early work from his Danse Macabre series, also called Dodendans, is exemplary of Delhez's interest in humor and the macabre. This is his version of the Chinese proverb, "Hear no Evil, See no Evil, Speak no Evil."
