Etching, 2012, Rijksmuseum CD 12-6; edition 20. 10 x 9 1/2 in. Dated in the plate and with the etched phrase, "zeer koud," ('very cold'). This is a fine impression in fine condition. The margins are full. Donker etched a series of pine cone studies in 2010-2012 which can certainly draw comparisons to Rembrandt's famous shell etching. These exquisitely rendered etchings are quite distinctive and compare nicely with the etched work of Donker's Austrian contemporary, Jakob Demus.      SOLD
