Composition with Figures Woodcut printed in colors, 1942, Johnson 27, edition 55. 8 x 14 in. Signed and titled in pencil. This is a superb impression printed on thin Japanese paper. The condition is fine. The margins measure about 3/4" an all sides. This is an outstanding example of his work from the 1940s. SOLD |

Jai-Alai Woodcut printed in colors, 1939, Brooklyn Museum 30, Johnson 17; edition 34 plus 15 trial proofs. 10 x 14 in. Signed in the image with the artist's monogram and signed in pencil. This is a superb impression with narrow but probably full margins. The condition is very good overall. This outstanding early color woodcut is being offered here WITH EIGHT PROGRESSIVE PROOFS, three of which are signed in pencil. The condition for these proofs is very good overall. Sets such as this are extremely difficult to obtain. This group has been in the same collection for the last fifteen years and originally came from the estate of the artist. SOLD |

This is a fine impression of this exceptionally rare, early print. The margins are full and the condition is fine. This is the first of two versions of this etching. "Speakeasy I" is also the first print listed in the Una Johnson/Jo Miller catalogue published by the Brooklyn Museum in 1974. SOLD |
