Dancing Women
Woodcut, 1940, edition unknown. 12 x 9 5/8 in. Signed and titled in pencil "Dansende Vrouwen". A fine dramatic impression in very good condition. Some discoloration and soiling verso. Probably the full sheet. Cluytmans was an Antwerp painter and printmaker who studied at l'Academie d'Anvers and the Nationaal Hoger Instituut Schone Kunsten in Antwerp. Her bold, stylized blockprints are quite distinctive.
