From the Weather Bureau (New York) - STOW WENGENROTH - lithograph printed with a tint stone

STOW WENGENROTH
American, (1906-1977)

Lithograph printed with a tint stone, 1940, Stuckey 106, edition 40. 10 1/4 x 17 in. Signed and numbered in pencil. This is a fine, atmospheric impression with full margins. The condition is quite good apart from minor handling creases in the margins and slight foxing here and there in the extreme upper margin. This subtle, panoramic New York print is greatly underrated. (Incidentally, The Weather Bureau was located at 17 Battery Place at the tip of lower Manhattan between 1911 and 1960.)       SOLD
